Background
Michael has a background in musical composition with a Bachelor’s of Music from Columbia College Chicago. During his time there, he studied with a well known composer in modern classical music. It was here that he began to realize sound as texture and his first lessons in listening to the piano on a deeper level began.
After his time there, he spent time with a veteran in piano rebuilding and was soon hired at a local dealer. Here he honed his skills, eventually working his way into the head/concert technician and director position. He has also had the pleasure of training other technicians and has a relationship with the best piano technician school in the area, North Bennet Street School.
Michael is excited to share his experience and knowledge with his private customers.
Why “Riverside”
Riverside was chosen as a nod to Michael’s adopted hometown on the beautiful Hudson River. A fan of nature and outdoor activities, Riverside ultimately made sense to bring together two of Michael’s favorite things; the outdoors and pianos. Also, Riverside was named for Michael’s late cousin, who had a construction company named “Riverside” as well.
